Lawyer, television correspondent and model, Cheslie Kryst was crowned Miss USA in 2019. In 2022, she was lost to suicide. The Black Women's Mental Health Institute is honored to welcome Cheslie's Mother, Mrs. April Simpkins, to Birmingham, Alabama for a fireside chat on mental health.

Our event emcee will be Carla Wade of WVTM 13 and Salaam Green, Birmingham’s Inaugural Poet Laureate, will share a special word. This is an event you won’t want to miss.

Ticket sales include general admission as well as a VIP meet and greet with April Simpkins.
